More Ways to Use Designer Paper

I have a couple more cards to show you....that will help you use up some of those paper scraps you have laying around! I have so many scraps laying around, and I can't bring myself to pitch them out until they are about the size of my thumbnail! Ok, maybe not quite that small, but you see what I'm saying. I punched out these circles with my 1-1/4" circle punch and the 3/4" circle punch and just kind of glued them down. So Simple to do, and it really does use those small pieces of paper you hate to part with.

CAS Monday

Its another CAS challenge over at SCS. The challenge this week is to use designer paper. I have an issue when it comes to using my dp.....I don't like to cut it! Its like a $50 bill, once you break it, it just seems to be gone in no time. So once I cut into that big 12 x 12 piece of paper, its like its gone!!! I'm finding that even with all of my 6 x 6 paper.....the same thing is starting to happen, so I tend to hoard my paper!
There are so many ways to use dp.... its nice with just a small piece on a white card...just to give it a little bit of color. This is also a good way to use up your scraps.

Recipe:
Stamps: PTI Baby Button Bits
Paper: PTI White, SU bashful blue paper and dp, and also pretty in pink paper and dp
Ink: Versafine black
Misc: Long scalloped rectangle nesties, and buttons of course!

Stop back tomorrow, I'll have some more great uses on how to use up some of your scrap dp!

Unity Friends with FLAIR Friday

Man I love Fridays!! Especially when I'm off work, they are the best! I also love Fridays because its Friends With Flair at Unity. Don't forget to check out the entire blog list and look for the winning blinky!

I decided to combine a few challenges for my card today....the Ways to Use it challenge over at SCS, and the Limelight Challenge. But first.....there is a story behind this card...or at least the makings of this card.

It started on my lunchbreak Thursday. I needed some canvas or muslin or something so I could do the challenge over at Limelight. So I get this wild idea to head out to WM at lunch and get some. So I'm wandering around the sewing section, find the stuff I need and I go to get in line and there is a woman with at least 80 different types of fabric and she is getting 2 yards of every one! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME??? Do I look like I have 3 hours to stand around? I need this muslin cut and I need it NOW...not at 6pm tonight....its called a lunch HOUR for a reason! Plus, there is only one woman doing the cutting!!! So as I'm silently having a meltdown inside....these ladies are standing around chatting....guess they had all day to spend with each other. After 20 LOOOONG minutes in line.....(ok, so maybe it wasn't 80 different types of fabric) I finally got my one measely yard of muslin and headed for the checkouts!

Sooooo...enjoy this card today I went thru alot to get the materials to make it!

No Cards

No cards tonight, but I do have something crafty to share. I've been making jewelry for years...I just love the fact you can make something and put it right on....kind of instant gratification like cards.

I bought these wooden and silver beads on my lunch break today, as well as that toggle closure. Came hope and just whipped it up. I used beading wire and crimp beads as well. I was going to make some earrings to match but my needle nose pliers seem to have walked off, and I'm out of headpins. I'll be sure to post a pic of the earrings when I make them.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll have some cards up this weekend.

I just wanted to take a minute to tell Mandy thanks for allowing me to be the guest designer for Limelight for the month of December. It went quick, and I'm not sure if its because I had so much fun, or because it was December, and we all know how busy that month can be! Anyways....thanks Mandy for a wonderful opportunity!
